I'm in trio!?

¡Hola!

Wild to think about the fact that last time y'all heard from me I wasn't in a trio! Sister Crouch and I received a call at 7:30 am last Tuesday, which informed us that we would be getting a new companion in four hours. So a very chaotic morning ensued, but it all worked out....kind or....our apartment is definitely not up to the usual standards of tidiness; but I suppose that is to be expected when three people are crammed into a space meant for 2 and one of them is trying to cram her entire life into two 50 pound suitcases! :) It's been a wild time! BUT we're rocking a mega bed, so that's been fun!

Anywho, our new companion is Hermana Magaña! She's from San Diego and has actually been a missionary for a year, despite just getting to the OEM! She served a year in the Nauvoo Historic Sights! She's pretty cool, and a native Spanish speaker for yay! I've been practice teaching her some lessons for language study! :) She's first generation in the US, and the sweetest human to live! She actually hit her year mark the DAY after she got here; so we partied it up! Low-key praying Magaña gets transferred to Garden Valley next, treat her well Forsloffs! ;) JK...unless...

T H E    P E O P L E :

CHRIS: our guy who's on date. we're definitely going to have to push that back, because this man doesn't know much, or attend church...? wild choice to put him on date, but I guess that's the last Sisters' prerogative. We taught him The Restoration this week, and it was so good!! It was low-key like we were teaching him for the first time, because he remembered nothing...and it was so cool! He's so ready, Satan's just working really hard to frustrate him. It was also Magaña's first ever time teaching a non-member! We handed it over to her for the Joseph Smith portion,  AND SHE KILLED IT! It's almost like she did this 24/6 for a year! :) My girl is a nerd for church history!

MICHELLE: we went and walked Michelle's dogs. She's a lady Sister Crouch found from a dog-walking service ad on Facebook (yeah, it's wild). One of her dogs is probably 150 pounds. She walked with us though, which was cool, usually when you show up to do service for people they give you some tools and disappear for two hours. We had only been talking to her for like 3 minutes when she asked us what our church was about!! We were all shocked for a second, but ended up answering some questions she had (If one more person in this state asks me how I know God's not a woman, I'll throw hands). At the end of the walk she seemed happy to know we wanted to come back, and said she wouldn't mind hearing more about our beliefs too, so yay!!! Dog-walking ads, who knew? :)

PETER: Peter is a returning member, he's got a lot going on but is pretty sweet. He writes a lot of songs apparently, and he sung one for us. It was the first time he'd ever sung in front of people, and he was crazy nervous. It was a pretty rocky run through the song, and then after it was over dude really apologized and said he played the wrong instrumental on his speaker, but was too nervous to change it; so he really just sang this whole song to the wrong beat. Legend. But the he played a song that he worked up with a like real producer....and it's incredible. The pessimist in me doesn't believe it's real....I'm going to attach the file (I asked for it like 4 times so he'd send it) if someone could Shazam it so we can know if he actually wrote it....that'd be nice!

THE BEANS: we had dinner with our WML and his wife last night (they also have a three month old and BOTH of them asked if I wanted to hold him, which was insanely tempting). But these people are legends. Such a stark contrast from my last WML, Brother Bean asked if our message could be about social media. He wanted to know how we use it, and how he -and the ward- could get involved. We ended up talking to him about it for an hour! He was asking us about the algorithm and how the tech missionaries boost it and I was in shock! He thought it was so cool!

It was the primary program this week, the COVID restrictions are pretty strict here so it was a pre-filmed thing; but it was so cute! The only problem was all the parents were incompetent and filmed the videos the wrong direction. Garbage. Friendly reminder to film things horizontally

Also I had my last interview with President Weekes this week and I didn't even cry, so that was incredibly disappointing. :(

'Til next week!

fun fact! eugene is the crack capital of the world!

Hello!!! (disclaimer I was told the title by my comp...not sure if it's true)

Big change this week!! I'm serving in Eugene for the first time since I got to the Oregon Eugene Mission....and wow! Okay. This place is getting a temple? Also I don't have a car here, so I'm walking/bussing for the first time....and that is an experience. Haha! It's been fun though, and I'm in a group of 4 sisters here in Santa Clara 2nd! My new comp is Sister Crouch, and she's a transfer older than me! The other companionship is Sisters Lee and Carroll! They're both babies in the mission (4 months and 2), and in real life to me, so that's been pretty fun! They're all so fun, and I really love serving with them, and I love our area, walking included :). I don't super love Eugene, or the vibe of the Zone; but that's okay...I won't be here long! More on that below.

Anywho...Monday night was low-key traumatic! We went and said some goodbyes after P-day...and I ended up holding Jamie for an hour while she cried. One of the saddest experiences of my life. She did not want us to go! :( Many tears were shed, but that's okay! I'll Zoom into her baptism soon! :) I also low-key promised her I'd come back after the mission and do baptisms for the dead with her, so hopefully that wasn't a bold faced lie...I love that family so much, and am going to miss them so much.

I also said good-bye to Gary which was quite sad as well! :( We said a few others as well, but I had a Zoom call I had to be on that took up some of our time! I had a Zoom call with a representative of the Spain Consulate! Turns out that meant a lot more than I thought it did too, because about 12 hours later I received flight plans! I'm heading over to Madrid November 2nd - Which is crazy exciting, and very bittersweet! Luckily I was traveling from the bottom of the mission up to the top, so I got to say goodbye to all the homies! :( They will be missed, but now I'll be able to message all of them on Mondays! :)

I met our homie Chris last night, he's on date for baptism...which is probs going to change...since hasn't been to church and hasn't been taught one commandment yet! Gotta love when missionaries jump the gun! :) He's super cool though! He's a truck driver and my jaw dropped when he told me he was 45 because the man looks 25, tops. He's super epic we just need to get to church!

Also my companion and I went to a baptism (other area, but my comp knew her). Oh my gosh! How do I even begin! This woman cannot be real, I'm convinced she's a collective fantasy, because she cannot exist! First, she was over 30 minutes late to her own baptism. Then when she did show up the chaotic energy just grew from there. It was an Elder area that had the baptism, so my comp and I helped Renee (the women being baptized) change into her jumpsuit, and back to a dress after. She was trying to set up her apple watch to video it, and I had to tell her we couldn't do that. Then she was telling about how she'd tried to rent a live lamb for the baptism, but she couldn't find one on time. She also wanted an Elder to get down on his knee and present her a ring to symbolize the Holy Ghost...I was dying inside trying not to laugh. Once we finally got her in the jumpsuit we started taking her through the font, to the room everyone else was waiting in. She didn't realize everyone was waiting in that room though, and started yelling into the font!! "KADEN, KADEN ARE YOU HERE TO DUNK ME?" And I almost peed my pants. Lady is crazy. When we got out there everyone was trying so hard not to laugh. She also tried to dunk herself when the baptism happened and that Elder in the font showed an amazing amount of patience. Another epic event, she had just dyed her hair bright purple and it straight up stained the white dress she bought for her baptism! She also was holding a purse dog that she brought in a stroller for most of it...very grateful I got to experience that. What a time!

Anywho! Much love from Eugene! Can't wait to see what this next week will hold for us!♡

ADVENTURES OF KLAMTUCKY, THE FINAL CHAPTER!

Heyo,

Wow, okay. Where do we start? Unfortunately, my GLORIOUS time in Klamtucky is being put to an end. 11 weeks was nowhere near enough, and I'm quite sad; but that's okay. I will say that me leaving is not for lack of trying though, some of you may know the legend that if you pack before transfer news, you'll end up staying. Well, I packed up a suitcase just for good measure. But I guess reverse psychology doesn't work on an omniscient Being. Here are a few of the things that are lemon juice in the cuts however, 1) we're being BLUE washed  (aka Elders are taking over my beautiful area book). Which hurts more than words can describe. 2) It's now a Spanish area, right when I get yeeted out. 3) Sister Hawkins is coming to Klamath Falls right as I leave. 4) I'm leaving to go to Eugene. Which has been called Sodom and Gomora by a LITERAL Prophet of the Lord. I know I'm going to love it there, but I'm not ready to yet, I need my time to wallow about Klamath Falls. I'll be heading up to the Santa Clara 2nd Ward on Tuesday. :)

L A S T  W E E K  I N  K L A M  R E P O R T :

LORI: Not much different than usual. She was pretty interested in this lesson, we taught about Temples and Family History, and her son's - who was a member and passed away a few years ago - work is being done right now. So, she seemed fairly engaged. She also accidently called herself a Mormon at one point during the lesson and the SMIRK that was planted on Sister McCreedie- clutch member who has been fellowshipping Lori for like a year- was incredible. Anywho, hopefully the Elders can crack her a bit.

ERIC: Man, are the new YSA missionaries in K-Falls going to be receiving an elect referral from us! (Our Zone Leaders are also getting white-washed... RIP Klamath) We taught him The Restoration this week and it went SOO good! He thought all of it made so much sense! He also told us he thinks that the spirit has been guiding him to meet with us for a while now. He told us he knows God put the ComeuntoChrist ads on his phone! Can't believe he's going to be the Klamath Falls YSA's first convert in years! :) Technology is such a gift, and I'm so lucky to be here as the work learns to use it!

OH YEAH, high-key forgot about this for a bit, but at Volleyball the ZLs and Eric disappeared for a bit; and when they came back one of the Elders told me that Eric was asking him some questions so they went and spontaneously taught him the plan! One of them told me it was the best Plan of Salvation lesson he had ever experienced. Eric is such a boss. So excited to see what the future has in store for him. Also he won some RocketLeague thing and now he's going to an invitational and it's a big deal! I hope the new Elders understand gaming! Haha.

JAMIE AND ANTHONY: Dread fills my soul already for this goodbye! :( We taught them the Word of Wisdom! They both agreed to live it, although they had a few more issues than I was ready for a 9 & 11 year old to have...but I love them, and am going to miss this family so much! So grateful for Joann and Elizabeth and their kids, and the tiny part I got to play in their story!♡

GARY! Ahhh this one will pain me as well. I love Gary, and he's finally out of quarantine so we got to see him. He looks like he is doing so much better! Such a legendary human being, everyone should have the opportunity to know him.

F U N  S T U F F :

An anonymous kind women paid for all of us Sisters' food at a Chinese restaurant we went to! Super sweet, asked to be called "The Secret Mary" so that's legendary. We went to Chinese to get fortune cookies to tell the transfer predictions...low-key some of them were scary how right they were

We went to a Farmer's Market to contact, and the Keno Sisters ended up getting bashed twice? Because they willingly chose to go up to the two booths about Jesus and strike up a conversation? We had to save them once. I saw those booths and dragged my comp away. One of the men also said, "There are a lot of snakes out today," as us Sisters walked by too! So that was fun, it'd been a while since I'd felt the hatred of the hard-hearted. It re-centered me.

Anywho! Off to go write some notes my the Elders! :) I refuse to let this area do anything but thrive.

BOWLING, BIRTHDAY'S AND CONFERENCE!!

Hello!

Sadly I don't have much to report this week! Lots of cancellations took place.

Conference was amazing! I can't wait for the talks to hit the Gospel Library app! Many questions answered, we watched most of the sessions with some of the other sisters, which was fun! Sadly, the Klamath Temple announcement wasn't said...oh, well next time. ;)

LUIS! What a man, he showed up for English Connect again, and then we had a lesson with him the next day! On Friday, after English Connect we ended up shooting around with him in the gym for a while, and I taught him how to dab, so that was epic! It's amazing how little vocal communication is needed when shooting around with people. :) He also asked us a bit about the Word of Wisdom, and we answered his questions between shots, President Weekes would be so proud, the definition of normal and natural! :) We taught him The Plan of Salvation, it went super well! We used scriptures from the Bible on most of the newer points, and he seemed to think they were all valid. Yay! What a legend! He may single-handedly resurrect the Klamath Falls Spanish group! It's not looking like it'll be kept around too long, with the attendance right now. Pray God will put some full-time missionaries over it! It has so much potential.

Last night we taught Anthony and Jamie the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jamie was understanding all of it, she was answering all the questions right on the money! She also made me the cutest homemade birthday card!♡ I love this family. Anthony was being nine, but that's okay because he understands Jesus loves us and if we follow His example we can go back to Him, and that's the best we can hope for.

For a day late birthday celebration, we went bowling with the Keno Sisters! 13/10 would recommend, I'm a little rusty, will definitely need to dust off my shoes when I get home. I only got a 125 and 130. :( It's okay, we'll get back in the groove soon.

Love y'all! Til next week!
