bye-bye OEM!!♡

Hello my People!!¡¡ : 

It has been such a wild week! Ahhhhhh! Wow. How is this my last week here??? Queues: Coming Home (Oregon) by Mat Kearney.

We contacted a lot of ward members that have somehow NEVER been contacted on Area Book?!? One of them called us back and told us she's been in South Dakota for 30 years? There's a lot of people who have an absolute blank timeline on our records, which is wild. 

P E O P L E :

CHRIS: our main guy Chris, such a sweetheart. He is so hard on himself. :( He's doing good though, we're just trying to go back through and re-teach everything slower. He didn't seem to retain much the first time. He is reading the BOM though, and was asking us some questions!!

DIAS: supposedly Dias was once on date for baptism...I don't know how, sounds like the work of Elders. This man. We talked with him about the BOM this week, and it was such a draining lesson. The man is old and doesn't have a lot of teeth, and I couldn't hear 90% of what he said. Super confusing man....I asked him why he thinks we have scriptures....and he went on for 10 minutes about working with the Forest service..?

Our DL got yeeted to Brazil this week, so we joined another District, and I had a unique experience of being in a room with four Sisters I was - or am currently- comps with. Wild time. I also filmed the bye-bye testimony after, which was sad.

BYE BYES!!¡¡ :)

HAYLIE: I got to see Haylie one last time on Saturday!! She came up and took my comps and I to lunch on Saturday! She's the cutest human!! :) I'll miss her!♡ I also got to ride in her car one last time as she blasted classic rock, so that was an absolute privilege!!

BP & MAMASTE: legends. Drove all the way up from Waldport to see Sister Judd and I off! Sister Judd is going to Argentina on the 4th! It was so weird seeing them again, especially while I wasn't in my yellow boots, it felt so incredibly off-putting! :) RIP the yellow boots, I've worn right through the souls, which have made for a few days of very soggy socks. No bueno. 1/10 would do again.

We got asked to talk in church with a whole 22 hours of warning. They said split it up however you want, so three of us drew the short straw and had to speak. Crouch, Carroll and I prepped our talks, and once again the eternal truth of church printers hating missionaries who are talking rang true. The printer didn't work and we had to go up there without phones like peasants. Turned out not that bad though, because I only ended up having like three minutes so I just wrapped things up with a testimony and didn't read a word of what I'd spent an hour typing the night prior. :)

HALLOWEEN : 

The ward had a trunk o' treat, and it was VERY well attended (about double the turnout that I've ever seen at sacrament meeting). It was pretty cool! We came as the mystery gang (Scooby Doo characters). It was pretty good, and Sister Crouch recreated the "Mystery Machine" immaculately with nothing but cardboard and dollar store paint. S/O to her. Also we made a video about it and answered some questions using the BOM, I personally thought it was brilliant. Our TECH Zone didn't and asked us to take it down last night, but sweet little Sister Carroll said, "No". Haha, she was so well poised while telling them no though, such a sweet little legend (this Messenger call was one of the most incredibly awkward moments of my life, and I've never laughed so hard after hanging up). Legit though, go hype it up! We got flamed for it, so don't let it flop.

I fly out in a little over 12 hours, and am high-key very stressed, but it'll all be good. I'm super excited to see what this week brings, can't wait to see where in Spain they stick me!! It's going to be a heck of a week!
